A new adventure
The first post on a new blog seems appropriate to about our family's brand new adventure.
For a while now, Eric and I have talked about what opportunities might lure us out of Augusta, Ga. This place, while having been home for the past 7+ years, isn't the place we expected we'd settle in. The time we've spent here has been great and we've made some amazing friends, but I do sometimes dream of life at a slower pace. That desire, coupled with Eric's activation in Columbia, SC ending in September, led us to the situation at hand.
For all those who haven't already heard, Eric accepted a position as a Department of the Air Force civilian working at Hill Air Force Base in Utah. He's going as the advanced party, leaving early tomorrow morning to drive the 2000 miles to Utah. The Prius is loaded up, and Eric's stocked up on sugar cubes for the old girl, so I think it'll make the trip alright. His first day or work will be Monday. The girls are I are staying behind, the girls in school/daycare and I at work, until A's Christmas Break from school.
Then we'll be making the trip out there where I'll start a new chapter as a stay at home mom. There's a lot of uncertainty, a lot to get done in a short amount of time, but I'm certain that this new adventure will be as crazy/awesome/fulfilling as the last.
Stay tuned...
